NGOC provides employees with the opportunity to participate in the Health Care and/or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) administered by PayFlex. FSAs allow you to use pretax dollars to pay for eligible out-of-pocket health care and/or dependent care expenses that are not covered by any other plans.

  • Your FSA contributions are deducted automatically from each paycheck before taxes are withheld, which lowers your taxable income.
  • If you have an FSA balance remaining at the end of this plan year, up to $500 can be carried over into the next plan year. You will not lose it!

The Healthcare FSA annual maximum is $3,200.

Dependent Care FSA - Provides pre‐tax reimbursement of out‐of‐pocket expenses related to dependent care. This benefit may make sense if you (and your spouse, if married) are working or in school, and:

  • Your dependent children under age 13 attend daycare, after‐school care or summer day camp
  • You provide care for a person of any age whom you claim as a dependent on your federal income tax return and who is mentally or physically incapable of caring for himself or herself

The Dependent Care FSA annual maximum is $5,000.

Please note: If you enroll in the QHDHP + HSA Plan, neither you nor your spouse can participate in the Health Care FSA. The IRS prohibits an individual from having a Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and a Health Savings Account (HSA) at the same time. If you or your spouse or domestic partner currently have a Health Care FSA that has a balance, you will not be permitted to open an HSA until April 15.
